Sienna's Artist Statement. Sarah's office

Me and Janai made our quilt square about how determined the women of America were to be treated equally to men.  During the time of the civil war women were fighting for their rights and often went to conventions and meetings to support woman's rights.  They were sick of being treated like children, and were doing something about it.  In our quilt square we show some women in a rally fighting for their rights.  The words above show how the women felt and had to be during that time to get what they deserved all along.

  1. How were the woman fighting for their rights? (Like, actually "fighting" or what?)

  3. OOPS!! Oh well, what I had said was... That's cool, I did a very similar topic! Women played a huge role in the civil war but at the time were not politically involved at all (except for Mary todd Licoln, but she didn't even get much say)

  4. I did the roles of women in the Civil War for my topic, and I knew that this was the beginning of the Women's suffrage movement, but I didn't know that they did something about it this early on.
