we did our quilt square about the 13th amendment. the 13th amendment was made to formally abolish slavery and involuntary servitude, from april 8 1864 until now and on. it was signed by president abraham lincoin. our quilt square is showing the president signing the paper at his desk in the white house. this was a really important event because it was what soo many people in the usa were waiting for.
