Ana Williams & Christina Vo's artist statement

Christina's Artist Statement:

Our quilt represent Harriet Tubman. She was not only a slave years ago, but she was also an important African American based on the underground railroad. Harriet helped over millions of slaves to freedom. She gave slave-born African American children a free life. Some may have died, but many survived through all the hard work Harriet Tubman had gone through for them. Because of Harriet, many slaves are now part of America. This brought all of us a United State, every one does not get abused, not one is forced to be slaves anymore. African Americans are part of our community. Harriet Tubman represent a strong believer who brought fare and loyalty to African Americans Today.

Ana's artist statement:

Harriet Tubman was the "conducter" of the underground railroad. Me and christinas quilt square is of the big dipper and the nourth star it mean's that the slaves followed the ster to freedom.
