Zoe Coyle - Sarah's Office

Coyle's Artist Statement

Zoe and I made a quilt piece symbolizing Abraham Lincoln’s election in 1860. He received 40% of his votes from the north side and southerners felt threatened because they didn’t have a say in who became president. The southerners were mistaken at first because all Lincoln was trying to do was re-unite the nation. That is why he is sewing together the American Flag. Right now Obama is trying to sew together the nation together on all different issues, that is why he is connected to the Lincoln era.
