Dylan Devlin - Sarah's Office

Devlin's Artist statement
Me (devlin) and Dylan did a quilt square about the Nat Turner rebellion. Our square is fairly straight forward, showing a enraged horde of blood thirsty slaves and freed blacks marching through a small town. A few bodys of dead whites lie on the ground. Nat Turner stands in front, artist interpration of course, leading with a torch and pistol. The rebellion helped speed up the nation towards war, and caused stricter laws around slaves. All the revolters were killed along with 100 other slaves. There is also a bird. It is cute. That is all.
Signing off, best wishes, see you soon,
Devlin Hunter Gillespie

                        Artist statement          Nat turner’s rebellion

My quilt skewer peas are a mob with Nat turner in the front marching thru a village and killing white people. But a few hoers later the local mulish came and scared the mob. Days later Nat was fawned in a hole he surrendered to the man hew fawned hem. Nat was hung a day later along with his mob and 100 black men. To scar the slaves and  not start a rebellion. Nat and his rebellion killed 57 white people.
