The picture me and clay made is a sword that says no slavery it goes in to the slave states. John brown used weapons to free slaves. The raid John Brown did was one of the events that started the civil war.
Clay's Artist Statement
my quilt is about John Brown. he was an anti slavery abolitionist. he liked to use violence to get his way. in my quilt it shows sword that says no slavery on it. that represents how he used violence in his quest to free slaves. the sword is going the slave states. that shows how he fought against the south and how he played a part in starting the civil war
that is a cool picture i like how you incorporated the sword into your picture and how it showed a way john brown freed slaves
