this quilt piece is meant to show how people struggled with diseases and infections during the civil war. More than half of all the deaths during the civil war was caused by diseases and other problems that were not treatable at that time. This helps us understand how lucky we are to have the technology we have today, and to show that most people during the civil war who were untreatable in that time could have been treated and saved now. the pictures of men in the back round show the dead, dying, and ill. where the two men in the front are still fighting, still killing, and still dying. pulling the nation apart by natural suffrage.
