3rd
Quilt square, Artist statement, Miah Middlebrook
Me and Amanda did
our 3rd
quilt square on African American's in office. The reason we did this
topic is because at this time our president is an African American
and we thought it would be cool and interesting.
Our quilt square
has the American flag as the background and then we had four people
there names are Hiram Revels who was the first African American to
become senator in the U.S, the next person is Edward Brooke who was
the first African American senator chosen by popular votes. The next
person is Carol Moseley who was the first female senator that was
African American and then of course the last is Barack Obama who was
the very first African American president.
